Review: Star Wars X-Wing Starfighter

The X-Wing Starfighter is one of those iconic images from Star Wars, and no child can complete a Lego Star Wars movie recreation without it. The newest X-Wing Starfighter comes with an improved design and a new set of minifigures, but is it worth buying for your child? Features Of The Star Wars X-Wing Starfighter * Comes with X-Wing Starfighter, 1 weapon, 1 lightsaber and extra wing markings, * Includes 4 minifigures: Luke Skywalker, R2-D2, R5-D8 and Jek Porkins, * Features include retractable landing gear, opening cockpit, wings that fold into attack mode and 2 proton torpedoes, * 18.9 x 2.9 x 11.1 inches in size. Is The Star Wars X-Wing Starfighter Worth Buying? This is the newest version of the X-Wing Starfighter from Lego, and many reviewers of the set consider it to be the very best. It comes with many of the same impressive features included on older models, but is designed to be a lot sturdier than the past X-Wing Starfighters. Another notable difference is the minifigures included in the set. This time around, you actually get fewer minifugures, but they are all built to a very high standard. Avid movie fans will welcome the addition of Jek Porkins, but you'll also get Luke Skywalker, R2-D2 and R5-D8. The Star Wars X-Wing Starfighter isn't the most difficult Lego set to put together, but it isn't suitable for the very youngest children, either. Lego recommend this set for kids aged 8 and above, who will find the instructions easy to follow. That said, it's definitely one of those toys that adults tend to enjoy playing with too! Once put together, there are plenty of features to keep this entertaining as a toy to play with. For starters, it's sturdy enough to stay together when played with. Your kids can also open the cockpit, play with the weapons, and open and close the wings. The main complaint of this set is the fact that it does cost more than some of the smaller Lego sets. However, Lego are famous for going into a lot of detail with movie replicas like this, and many of the other Star Wars sets cost a lot more than this one. For what you get – which is a high quality Lego version of the classic X-Wing Starfighter from the movies – this is actually a good price to pay. In short, if you have a real Star Wars fan in your family then this is a must-have set. The X-Wing Starfighter is something that no Star Wars fan is going to forget from the movies, and this is the perfect toy that'll help kids relive their favorite moments.
